FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL Safety Recalls

Critical #21V907000 Plain English
Component

FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The EGR cooler in your diesel engine is a component that helps reduce emissions. In some affected 2013-2018 BMW models, it can leak internally, causing a buildup of soot and coolant that could melt the intake manifold.
Risk if Unfixed
If the intake manifold melts, it could catch fire, which could cause a serious injury or damage to your vehicle.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty EGR cooler and inspect the intake manifold, fixing or replacing it if necessary, all at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible, and you can contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 for more information.
