What Happened
The headlight switch in your vehicle is the part that turns your headlights on and off. Over time, it may wear out and stop working.
Risk if Unfixed
If the headlight switch fails, your headlights might not turn on or work properly, making it harder for you to see the road at night. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will inspect and replace the headlight switch if it's damaged or faulty, at no cost to you. They'll take care of this as soon as you schedule the repair.

Original — What Happened
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, OVER AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH MAY CEASE TO FUNCTION.

THE HEAD LIGHTS MAY NOT OPERATE PROPERLY WHICH COULD RESULT IN INTERMITTENT OR NO HEADLIGHT FUNCTION. THIS COULD IMPAIR A DRIVER'S VISIBILITY, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Original — Remedy
ON VEHICLES WITH AN ORIGINAL OEM SWITCH, DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH. ALL OTHER VEHICLES WILL BE INSPECTED TO DETERMINE IF THE SWITCH HAS EEN DAMAGED AND REPLACE ONLY IF NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 24, 2005. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT VOLVO AT 1-800-458-1552.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TURN SIGNAL

What Happened
The turn signal bulbs and sockets in your vehicle's front lights are the parts that help you signal to other drivers when you're turning. In some cases, these parts might not make the best connection, which can cause the turn signal to malfunction.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, another driver might not see your turn signal, which could lead to a crash. You could be involved in an accident because the other driver doesn't know you're changing lanes or turning.
Free Fix
Your dealer will swap out the faulty turn signal bulbs and sockets for new ones, free of charge. This repair is completely free, and you should schedule it with your dealer as soon as you get the recall notice.
