Component
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Manufacturer
VOLVO CARS OF N.A. LLC.
What Happened
Your vehicle has a sensor that helps control your speed. In some cases, this sensor can get dirty or misconfigured, which can make the 'check engine' light come on and limit your car's performance.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, your vehicle's speed control system could enter 'limp home mode' unexpectedly, which means your car will limit its speed to prevent further damage. This could leave you stranded or cause an accident.
Free Fix
Your Volvo dealer will update the software in your vehicle's computer system for free, so you can drive with confidence. You should schedule the update as soon as possible.
