Component
SUSPENSION:REAR
Manufacturer
TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC.
What Happened
The rear axle in your vehicle is the part that connects the wheels to the rest of the suspension. It's made from a special heat-treated metal to make it strong, but in some cases, this process might not have worked properly.
Risk if Unfixed
Over time, the rear axle shafts could fail or break while you're driving, which could cause a loss of control and make it harder to steer the vehicle.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect the rear axle hub assemblies and replace them if necessary, all at no cost to you.
