What Happened
The air bag warning label on your dashboard is an important reminder of how to use your vehicle's safety features. In some 2020-2025 Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, 2018-2024 F-150, and other models, the label might not be there.
Risk if Unfixed
Without this label, you or your passengers might not know how to properly use your seatbelts and airbags in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Ford will mail you the missing air bag warning label for free. You should look for it in the mail and install it on your dashboard as soon as possible.

Original — What Happened
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, 2020-2024 Escape, Lincoln Corsair, 2018-2024 F-150, Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles. The air bag warning label may be missing from the dashboard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirement Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Without a label that shows the proper restraint usage guidelines, the occupants may have an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Ford will mail owners the warning labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 19, 2024. Owners may call Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24C39.

What Happened
The owner's manual for your Expedition, Navigator, or F-Super Duty has a missing section on how to properly adjust and remove the head restraints in the third row.
Risk if Unfixed
If you don't know how to adjust or remove the head restraints, you could be at risk of injury in a crash, especially if you're a passenger in the third row. This is because the head restraints might not be properly positioned to protect you.

Ford will send you a free update for your owner's manual with the missing instructions. You should expect to receive the updated manual in the mail, and if you have questions, you can call Ford's customer service at 1-866-436-7332.

Original — What Happened
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles equipped with third-row seating; and 2019-2023 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 SuperCab vehicles. The owner's manual does not include instructions for adjusting or removing certain head restraints. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 202, "Head Restraints."
