What Happened
The front and rear axle attachments on your Jeep Wrangler secure the wheels to the car's frame. Over time, the fasteners that hold these attachments may become loose, which could cause problems.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fasteners become loose, you could hear unusual noises, and eventually, your Wrangler might have trouble steering, making it harder to control. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Chrysler dealer will retighten the fasteners to the correct torque value at no cost to you. Schedule the repair when you receive the recall notice to ensure your Jeep is safe and stable on the road.

Original — What Happened
CHRYSLER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010-2011 JEEP WRANGLER VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 12, 2010, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 10, 2010. SOME VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE A DEGRADATION OF FASTENER TORQUE FOR VARIOUS FRONT AND REAR AXLE ATTACHMENTS TO THE CHASSIS MODULE.

THIS COULD RESULT IN NOISE, OR ULTIMATELY, DEGRADATION IN STEERING AND HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS WHICH COULD LEAD TO LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL RE-TORQUE ALL NINETEEN FASTENERS TO THE MAXIMUM RESIDUAL TORQUE VALUES. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 24, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
