What Happened
The brake booster input rod retaining clip is a small metal part that keeps the brake booster working properly in your vehicle. In some 2009-2010 vehicles, this clip might be damaged or missing, which could affect how your brakes function.
Risk if Unfixed
If the clip fails, your brakes could stop working without warning, making it hard to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a serious crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized dealer will replace the faulty brake booster input rod retaining clip with a new one, at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

CHRYSLER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 CHRYSLER SEBRING; DODGE AVENGER AND NITRO; JEEP LIBERTY, COMMANDER AND GRAND CHEROKEE; AND MODEL YEAR 2009-2010 DODGE RAM TRUCK. THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH AN IMPROPERLY FORMED OR MISSING BRAKE BOOSTER INPUT ROD RETAINING CLIP.

THIS COULD RESULT IN BRAKE FAILURE WITHOUT WARNING WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH.
