What Happened
The onboard vapor recovery system in your vehicle is designed to prevent fuel spills when refueling. However, the vent hose may have been misrouted, allowing water to enter the system and cause fuel to spill when you fill up.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, fuel could leak out of the filler tube when you're refueling, and if there's an ignition source nearby, it could cause a fire.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect and fix the vent hose. If the hose is misrouted and your vehicle has been driven more than 20 miles, they'll replace the canister assembly for free. Schedule a visit with your dealer as soon as possible.
