What Happened
The electric cooling fan in your vehicle is like a big, spinning shield that helps keep your engine cool. Over time, its plastic blades could break off and fly out, posing a hazard to anyone nearby.

If this happens while you're working under the hood, you or someone nearby could get hit by the flying blade and get hurt.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the entire cooling fan module with a new, safer one — at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, THE PLASTIC BLADES OF THE ELECTRIC MOTOR DRIVEN COOLING FAN MAY SEPARATE AND PENETRATE THE SHROUD.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
IF THIS OCCURS WHILE THE HOOD IS OPEN, A PERSON IN THE VICINITY OF THE ENGINE COULD BE STRUCK BY THE BLADE AND INJURED.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN MODULES FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 4, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
