AIR BAGS Safety Recalls

High Priority #02V178000 Plain English
Component

AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE-INACTIVE

Manufacturer
GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
What Happened
The air bag sensing diagnostic module in your vehicle is a computer that helps decide when to deploy the front air bags. In some cases, this module might not work properly, leaving you without protection in a frontal crash.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a severe frontal crash and the air bags don't deploy, you and your passengers could be at risk of more serious injuries than if the air bags had worked as designed.
Free Fix
Your authorized Chevrolet or GMC dealer will reprogram the air bag sensing diagnostic module to ensure it works correctly. This repair is free of charge, and you should schedule it as soon as possible after receiving the recall notice.
