The driver air bag module in your vehicle may not have been assembled correctly, which could prevent it from working properly in a crash.

If your air bag doesn't deploy correctly in a crash, you may not get the protection you need, which could lead to injury.

Ford will replace your driver air bag module for free, and the recall started on November 20, 2007. You can contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673 to schedule the repair.

Original — What Happened
CERTAIN VEHICLES FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIED IN FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 208, 'OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION.' THE DRIVER AIR BAG MODULE MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PROPERLY ASSEMBLED.

THIS CONDITION MAY PREVENT THE DRIVER AIR BAG FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING AND REDUCE OCCUPANT PROTECTION IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.

What Happened
Your headlight assembly has a crucial reflective sticker on the side that helps other drivers see you when you're changing lanes or turning. Some K2 Motor aftermarket headlamps are missing this sticker.
Risk if Unfixed
Without this sticker, other drivers might not be able to see you as clearly, which could lead to a collision, especially at night or in low-light conditions.
Free Fix
K2 Motor will give you a full refund for the defective headlamp. You should contact them directly at 1-909-839-2992 to arrange the refund.

K2 MOTOR IS RECALLING 1,921 AFTERMARKET HEADLAMPS OF VARIOUS MODELS SOLD FOR USE ON THE ABOVE LISTED VEHICLES. THESE HEADLAMPS ARE MISSING THE AMBER SIDE REFLEX REFLECTOR WHICH FAILS TO CONFORM WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT."
