What Happened
The fuel filter is a safety device that cleans the gasoline in your vehicle's fuel system. The Purolator fuel filter, which was sold from January to June 2006, might not connect properly to your vehicle.
Risk if Unfixed
If this connection is loose, fuel could spill out and, if there's an ignition source nearby, a fire could start.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty fuel filter with a new one at no cost to you. You should contact UFI Filters USA at 800-230-5876 to schedule the repair.

Original — What Happened
CERTAIN AFTERMARKET FUEL FILTERS SOLD UNDER THE PUROLATOR BRAND NAME, P/N F65277, SHIPPED FROM JANUARY 16 THROUGH JUNE 2, 2006, FOR USE ON THE ABOVE LISTED PASSENGER VEHICLES. DUE TO INCORRECT DESIGN, THE QUICK CONNECTORS MAY NOT FULLY SEAT WITH THE TUBE INTERFACE, EVEN THOUGH THE PERSON MAKING THE CONNECTION MAY BELIEVE THAT THE QUICK CONNECTOR IS FULLY ATTACHED.

FAILURE OF THIS CONNECTION COULD LEAD TO FUEL SPILLAGE AND, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, A FIRE COULD OCCUR.
