What Happened
The air bag in your vehicle's driver's seat is a critical safety feature that deploys in a crash to cushion the impact. In some 2015-2016 Cadillac models, the air bag's inflator could fail catastrophically, releasing sharp metal fragments.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag inflator ruptures, the driver or other occupants could be struck by sharp metal shards, leading to serious injury or even death.

Your Cadillac dealer will replace the faulty air bag module with a new, safer one – at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, XTS, 2015-2016 Cadillac ATS, CTS, and SRX vehicles. The front-driver air bag inflator may rupture during deployment.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
An inflator rupture may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace the front-driver air bag module, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed July 6, 2026. Additional letters will be mailed once the remedy is available. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223. The manufacturer's number for this recall is N262555870.
