What Happened
The part that connects your brake pedal to the brake system in your ATS or CTS is a metal bracket. In some cases, this bracket can break, causing problems with your brakes.
Risk if Unfixed
If the bracket breaks, you won't be able to press the brake pedal all the way down, which means you won't be able to stop your vehicle as quickly as you should. This could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your Cadillac dealer will inspect the bracket and replace it if it's faulty, at no charge to you. Just take your vehicle to the dealer when you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Cadillac ATS and CTS vehicles. The affected vehicles have a bracket between the brake pedal assembly and the rod that actuates the brakes that may fracture during normal brake pedal operation.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
If the bracket fractures, the driver would not be able to apply the brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicle and replace any affected bracket, free of charge. The recall began July 6, 2015. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is 15352.

What Happened
The air bag in your vehicle's driver's seat is a critical safety feature that deploys in a crash to cushion the impact. In some 2015-2016 Cadillac models, the air bag's inflator could fail catastrophically, releasing sharp metal fragments.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag inflator ruptures, the driver or other occupants could be struck by sharp metal shards, leading to serious injury or even death.
Free Fix
Your Cadillac dealer will replace the faulty air bag module with a new, safer one – at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, XTS, 2015-2016 Cadillac ATS, CTS, and SRX vehicles. The front-driver air bag inflator may rupture during deployment.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
An inflator rupture may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace the front-driver air bag module, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed July 6, 2026. What Happened
The seat heaters in your 2014-2016 Cadillac CTS are the warm pads in the front seats that keep you cozy on cold days. Over time, these mats can get damaged, causing the heaters to work too hard and get too hot.
Risk if Unfixed
If a damaged seat heater gets too hot, it could start a fire in your car when no one's inside. This is most likely to happen when you remote-start your vehicle in freezing temperatures.
Free Fix
Your Cadillac dealer will update the computer system in your vehicle to prevent the seat heaters from turning on automatically when you remote-start your car. This fix is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Cadillac CTS vehicles, equipped with heated front seats. The flexible heating mats in the front seats may be damaged over time, resulting in the seat heaters producing excessive heat.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
In cold ambient temperatures, the seat heaters in these vehicles can turn on automatically when the vehicle is remotely started. If a damaged seat heater is turned on while no one is inside the vehicle, the damaged seat heater can overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
Original — Remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will recalibrate the body control module, disabling the automatic activation of the heated seat when the vehicle is remotely started, free of charge. The recall began November 1, 2018. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for the recall is 18286.
