POWER TRAIN Safety Recalls

Critical #20V668000 Plain English
Component

POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Manufacturer
General Motors LLC
What Happened
The start/stop accumulator in your car is a small part that helps your transmission work smoothly. In some affected models, this part might be missing a few bolts that keep it secure.
Risk if Unfixed
If the bolts are missing, transmission fluid could leak out, causing your car to lose power and potentially stall. This could increase the risk of a crash, especially on the highway. In rare cases, a leak could also lead to a fire if it's near an ignition source.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect the accumulator and replace it if any bolts are missing, all at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair when you get the recall notice and they'll take care of it.

The start/stop accumulator endcap may have missing bolts.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
Missing bolts on the start-stop accumulator endcap could result in a transmission oil leak and may progress to a loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.
