Component
AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:CURTAIN:INFLATOR
Manufacturer
General Motors LLC
What Happened
The side curtain airbag in your vehicle has a part called the diffuser that helps it work properly. In some 2020 models, this diffuser wasn't attached correctly to the airbag, which could cause it to separate during deployment.
Risk if Unfixed
If the diffuser separates from the airbag, it could affect how well the side curtain airbag protects you in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty airbag module at no charge to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
