Component
CHILD SEAT
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
Your X6 has special mountings called lower anchor bars that help keep child seats secure in the back seat. These bars are located on the seat and can be damaged if you use a certain type of child seat.
Risk if Unfixed
If the anchor bars are damaged, your child's seat might not be securely attached in a crash, which could increase the risk of injury to your child.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will weld a reinforcing bracket to the anchor bars and the vehicle body, free of charge. This will ensure your child seat is safely secured in the back seat. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
