SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The brake system in your vehicle has a rotor and shaft that work together to help you stop safely. In some 2020-2021 models, these parts might not have been welded properly, which could cause them to separate.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens while you're braking hard, you could lose your vehicle's anti-lock braking system (ABS) and braking assistance. This means your brakes might not respond as they should, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty brake system with a new one, completely free of charge. You'll get a letter with instructions on how to schedule the repair.
