What Happened
The passenger-side air bag in your vehicle is held in place with special fasteners. On some newer X6, X7, X5, and X5 Plug-In Hybrid models, these fasteners might be installed incorrectly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag can't deploy properly, you could be at risk of serious injury in a crash. An air bag that doesn't work right can't protect you like it's supposed to.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty instrument panel trim to ensure your air bag deploys correctly. This repair is free, and you can schedule it by calling 1-800-525-7417.
