Component
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The instrument cluster in your vehicle is the control panel in front of you that shows important info like speed and navigation. In some 2018-2020 X3 and X4 models, the panel wasn't attached properly to the airbag.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a severe crash that triggers the airbag, it could shatter the instrument panel. This might send sharp pieces flying towards you or your passengers, potentially causing injury.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the instrument panel with a new one that's securely attached to the airbag, at no cost to you. You'll get a notification, and you should schedule the repair as soon as possible.
