ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Safety Recalls

Critical #22V178000 Plain English
Component

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The turbocharger in your Audi is a crucial part that uses oil to keep the gears moving smoothly. The oil strainer in your 2013-2017 A8, S6 Sedan, S7, S8, or RS7 model could become blocked and prevent the oil from reaching the gears, causing them to wear out.
Risk if Unfixed
If the gears wear out, the turbine wheel could break or get stuck, causing your engine to stall. This could make it hard to control your vehicle, especially at highway speeds, and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the oil strainer and give your engine a fresh oil change, all for free. You should schedule this repair as soon as you receive your recall notice.
