Component

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The turbocharger is a component in your engine that helps it breathe and produce power. In certain models of your Audi, the oil supply to the turbocharger can become blocked, causing wear and tear.
Risk if Unfixed
If the turbocharger bearings wear down, they could fail, causing the turbine wheel to crash into the housing or the shaft to break. This can make your engine stall while driving, making it harder to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the oil strainer and change the oil in your engine for free. This repair should be done as soon as possible after you receive the recall notice.
