What Happened
The turbocharger oil supply strainer in your vehicle is like a tiny filter that keeps the turbocharger's moving parts lubricated. In some 2013-2017 A8, S6 Sedan, S7, S8, and 2014-2017 RS7 models, this strainer can get clogged and stop doing its job.
Risk if Unfixed
If the strainer fails, the bearings inside the turbocharger will wear out, and the turbine wheel could collide with the housing or break the shaft. This could cause your engine to stall while driving, making it harder to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the oil strainer and give your engine a fresh oil change, all at no cost to you. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
