What Happened
Your vehicle's electric cooling fan might overheat and cause engine damage or a fire if it fails.
Risk if Unfixed
A fire in your engine compartment could happen, which could be very dangerous.
Free Fix
The dealership will replace the cooling fan for free, and you can contact Volvo Cars at 1-800-458-1552 to schedule an appointment starting November 29, 2004.

Original — What Happened
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, UNDER CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS, SOME ELECTRIC COOLING FANS MAY OVERHEAT POTENTIALLY CAUSING HEAT DAMAGE AND, IN RARE INSTANCES, A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.

Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE COOLING FAN. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 29, 2004. CUSTOMERS SHOULD CONTACT VOLVO CARS AT 1-800-458-1552.
