Manufacturer
Nissan North America, Inc.
What Happened
Your Pathfinder's brake torque member is a crucial part that helps your front brakes function properly. Unfortunately, some 2013 models have a structural weakness due to improper casting.
Risk if Unfixed
If the brake torque member fails, it could crack and cause your brake caliper to move, making your brakes less effective. This could lead to a reduced braking performance and increase the risk of a collision while driving.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will inspect the brake torque member and replace it, if necessary, at no cost to you. You'll receive a notification with instructions on how to schedule the repair.

Original — What Happened
Nissan is recalling certain model year 2013 Pathfinder and Infiniti JX vehicles manufactured December 3, 2012, through January 29, 2013. The front brake torque member was improperly cast resulting in structural weakness. This can lead to premature failure and cracking.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
If the brake torque member fails, the brake caliper may move and contact the inside of the road wheel, resulting in reduced braking, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the manufacturing date of the torque members and replace them, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on May 20, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan Customer Service at 1-800-647-7261.
