What Happened
The crankshaft position sensor is like a tiny computer that helps your engine start. In your 4.0L engine Sport Utility Vehicle, the wire insulation around this sensor might crack, exposing it to moisture.
Risk if Unfixed
If the sensor gets wet, it could fail while you're driving, causing your engine to stall suddenly. This raises the risk of a crash, so it's essential to address this issue right away.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the crankshaft position sensor with a new one at no charge to you. Just schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.
