Component
ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER
Manufacturer
Ford Motor Company
What Happened
The turbocharger in your vehicle is a critical component that helps your engine breathe. In some 2016-2017 Ford Taurus, Flex, Explorer, and Explorer Police Interceptor Utility models with 3.5L GTDI engines, the oil supply tubes that feed the turbocharger might not be properly connected.
Risk if Unfixed
If the oil supply tubes leak, oil could drip onto engine parts and ignite if there's a spark nearby. This could cause a fire.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will inspect the turbocharger oil supply tubes and replace them if necessary – at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
