What Happened
The alternator and starter in your vehicle are connected by cables that supply power. In some 2018-2019 Ford Edge, Flex, and Lincoln MKX/MKT models, these cables might not be properly secured, which could lead to a spark.
Risk if Unfixed
If the cables aren't properly secured, an electrical spark could ignite a fire, which could damage your vehicle or put you and others at risk.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will inspect the cables and make sure they're secure, and fix them if they're not – at no cost to you. You should schedule a visit as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018 Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX, 2019 Ford Flex, and Lincoln MKT vehicles. The power supply cables at the starter and the alternator may not have been properly secured, possibly resulting in an electrical arc.

An electrical arc can increase the risk of a fire.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the alternator and starter motor power supply cables to verify that they are properly secured, correcting them as necessary, free of charge. What Happened
The B-Pillar door trim on your Flex is the plastic piece that connects the doors to the roof. In some 2017-2019 models, this trim might come loose while you're driving.
Risk if Unfixed
If the trim detaches while you're on the road, it could become a road hazard and cause another vehicle to crash into it. This could lead to a collision.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will inspect and repair or replace the B-Pillar trim as needed – all at no cost to you. You'll get a notice when the repair is available, and you can also contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332 for more information.

What Happened
The rearview camera in your vehicle shows you what's behind your car when you're in reverse. In some 2015-2020 models, the camera may display a distorted, blurry, or blank image.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview camera fails to show you what's behind your vehicle, you might not see a person or object, increasing the risk of a crash, especially when reversing.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will check and replace the camera if it's not working correctly, at no cost to you. The repair will be done in phases, but you'll get a notification letter with instructions when it's your turn.

Original — What Happened
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Flex, 2015 Explorer, Lincoln MKT, Lincoln MKZ, 2015-2016 C-Max, Escape, Taurus, 2016 Fusion, 2018-2019 Taurus, 2019 Lincoln MKT, Fiesta, and 2020 Mustang vehicles. The rearview camera may display a distorted, intermittent, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.

A rearview camera that fails to properly display an image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. This will be a phased campaign, with the remedy becoming available in different phases based on model and model years. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on October 25, 2025. Additional letters will be mailed once the final remedy is available on each phase.
