STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM

Manufacturer
Ford Motor Company
What Happened
The electric power steering assist system in your vehicle is what helps make turning easier with the push of a button. It's controlled by a sensor that might malfunction and shut down the system.
Risk if Unfixed
If the power steering assist fails, you'll need to work harder to steer at low speeds, which could increase your risk of being involved in an accident.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will check the steering system for any problems and either replace the steering gear or update the software, both of which are free. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
