What Happened
The lighting control module in your Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis is a computer that helps control your headlights. In some 2003-2005 models, this module could fail and turn off your headlights.
Risk if Unfixed
If your headlights go out while driving in the dark, you'll have reduced visibility, making it harder to see the road and other cars. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will swap out the faulty lighting control module for a new one at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
