What Happened
The radiator in your vehicle is attached to a fan that helps keep your engine cool. In some 2.4L engine models, coolant could seep into the fan's electrical connection.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, it could cause a short circuit and lead to a fire in the engine compartment. This is a serious situation that could damage your engine and potentially put you at risk.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect the fan's electrical connection, add a protective covering, and replace the fan motor at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
ON CERTAIN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 2.4 LITER ENGINES, THE ENGINE COOLANT MAY BE DRAWN INTO THE LEFT RADIATOR COOLING FAN MOTOR CONNECTOR.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
THIS CAN CAUSE AN ELECTRICAL SHORT CIRCUIT AND RESULT IN AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE CONNECTOR FOR CONTAMINATION OR DAMAGE, INSTALL A WIRING HARNESS OVERLAY, AND REPLACE THE FAN MOTOR FREE OR CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 19, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
