What Happened
The tire pressure monitoring system in your Sebring or Avenger has a set of electrical connectors that can get corroded if not used. This can cause problems like a dead battery, a non-working cruise control, or a stalled engine.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wires short circuit, your engine might stall without warning. This could cause a crash, putting you and others at risk.
Free Fix
Your authorized Chrysler dealer will seal the TPMS wires to prevent corrosion, and this repair is completely free. You should schedule the fix as soon as you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
CHRYSLER IS RECALLING 180,963 MY 2007-2008 SEBRING AND DODGE AVENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A STANDARD TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS). UNUSED ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS FOR THE TPMS MAY BECOME CORRODED AND COULD SHORT CIRCUIT, WHICH CAN CAUSE A VARIETY OF CONDITIONS INCLUDING ENGINE NO-START, DEAD BATTERY, AN INOPERATIVE CRUISE CONTROL OR REMOTE START SYSTEM, AND/OR ENGINE STALLING.
