Component
POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Manufacturer
General Motors LLC
What Happened
The start-stop accumulator in your vehicle is a critical component that helps your transmission shift gears smoothly. In some 2018-2020 models, a critical bolt may be missing, which could cause a problem.
Risk if Unfixed
If the bolt is missing, transmission oil could leak out, and you may lose power while driving. This could lead to a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash, or even a fire if the leak ignites in the presence of a spark.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect the start-stop accumulator and replace it if the bolt is missing, all at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
