ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Manufacturer
General Motors LLC
What Happened
The chassis electronic module is like a brain for your vehicle's electrical system. It controls many of the vehicle's functions, like lights and accessories. In some 2013-2014 models of your CTS, Escalade, or other GM vehicles, the module might be contaminated with electrical debris.
Risk if Unfixed
If the module gets an electrical short, your vehicle could stall on the road, making it harder to control and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your GM dealer will replace the faulty electronic module with a new one, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice, and it's completely free to you.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL

Manufacturer
General Motors LLC
What Happened
The instrument cluster in your vehicle includes the fuel gauge, and it's controlled by a computer called the engine control module. In some 2014 models of the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia, this computer can send the wrong signal to the fuel gauge.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel gauge is wrong, you might think you have more gas than you really do. This could cause your vehicle to run out of fuel while driving, making it stall and potentially leading to a collision.
Free Fix
Your dealer will update the engine control module's software to ensure the fuel gauge shows the correct level. This repair is completely free, and you'll be notified when it's time to bring your vehicle in.
