What Happened
The mechatronics unit in your transmission is like a brain that helps control your car's gears. In some 2022 BMW models, it might not have been put together correctly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the mechatronics unit leaks, it could cause your transmission to malfunction, and your car might roll away when you park it. This increases the risk of a crash or injury.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty transmission mechatronics unit with a new one, free of charge. You can contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 to schedule the repair.
