What Happened
The headlight attachment points on your R 18B or R 18 Transcontinental motorcycle are designed to keep the reflector in place, but they might break, causing the reflector to shift position.
Risk if Unfixed
If the reflector shifts, you'll get reduced visibility or a glare that could blind oncoming traffic, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will replace the headlamp with a new one, free of charge, to ensure your headlight shines bright and safe. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2021-2024 BMW R 18B and R 18 Transcontinental motorcycles. The headlight low beam attachment points may break, shifting the reflector out of position, and resulting in insufficient illumination. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
