Component
EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The headlight assembly on your BMW R 18B or R 18 Transcontinental motorcycle is the part that focuses the light from the bulb onto the road. In certain models, the attachment points can break, moving the reflector out of position.
Risk if Unfixed
If the headlight attachment breaks, your low beams might not shine brightly enough, making it harder for you to see the road ahead or for oncoming traffic to see you. This could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will swap out the faulty headlamp assembly for a new one, at no cost to you. The repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
