What Happened
The fuel tank vent line in your i3 REx is a hose that helps control the pressure in your fuel tank. In some 2014-2017 models, this hose can get damaged by a nearby wire, causing it to leak fuel vapors.
Risk if Unfixed
If the vent line leaks fuel vapors near an ignition source, like your car's engine, there's a chance of a fire breaking out.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will check the fuel vent line, replace it if it's damaged, and add a clip to keep the wire from chafing it. This repair is free, and you'll receive a notification when it's time to schedule the fix.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2014-2017 i3 REx hybrid electric vehicles. The fuel tank vent line may rub against the ribbed wire protection sleeve of the battery positive (B+) cable, creating a hole in the vent line and causing a fuel vapor leak.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
A fuel vapor leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
Original — Remedy
