AIR BAGS Safety Recalls

High Priority #17V720000 Plain English
Component

AIR BAGS:FRONTAL

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The frontal airbag in your i3 is a safety feature that deploys in a crash to protect you. However, in certain 2014-2018 models, this system may not work as intended for unbuckled drivers, especially smaller adults.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're driving without a seatbelt and get into a frontal crash, you could be at a higher risk of neck injury from the airbag deploying. This is a serious safety concern that could leave you hurt or worse.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will update the airbag system software for free, so schedule an appointment as soon as you receive the recall notice. This update will ensure your airbag works properly to keep you safe in a crash.
