Component
EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The rear reflex reflectors on your BMW are the small triangular pieces of plastic on the back that reflect light from other vehicles to help them see you. In some 2013 models, these reflectors might not be reflecting enough light.
Risk if Unfixed
If the reflectors don't reflect light well, other drivers might have trouble seeing your vehicle, especially at night or in low-visibility conditions. This could lead to a crash, especially if you're driving in heavy traffic or on a dark road.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the rear reflex reflectors with new ones that reflect light better, and this service is free. When you get the recall notice, schedule an appointment to have it done.
