What Happened
The water pump in your vehicle is a crucial part that helps keep your engine cool. In some 2012-2018 models, a connector on the pump might not seal properly, allowing water to seep in and cause a short circuit.

An improperly sealed electrical connector on the water pump may be exposed to water and short circuit.

What Happened
The fuel pump in your vehicle is a small electric motor that sends gasoline from the tank to your engine. In some 2007-2012 BMW models, the wires inside the pump might not be properly connected, which could lead to a problem.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wires melt, your fuel pump could fail, causing your engine to stall while driving. This could lead to a loss of power steering and brakes, making it harder to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty fuel pump module with a new one, free of charge. This repair is completely free to you, and you should schedule it as soon as possible after receiving the recall notice.
