Component
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The electrical wiring and connectors in your car's heating and air conditioning system are crucial for keeping you cool or warm. In some 2006-2011 BMW models, these wires and connectors can get too hot and fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiring overheats, it could cause a fire, even when your car is parked and unattended. This is a serious safety risk because it could spread quickly and cause damage to your vehicle.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty wiring and electrical connectors for free. You should schedule an appointment as soon as you get the recall notice, and they'll take care of the repair at no cost to you.
