Component
AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:DRIVER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The inflator in your driver's side airbag is the component that deploys during a crash. In some 2006-2012 3 Series models, the original inflator was replaced with a potentially faulty one, often in a sport or M-sport steering wheel.
Risk if Unfixed
If your airbag inflator explodes during a crash, it could send sharp metal fragments flying toward you or your passengers, causing serious injury or even death.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect and replace the faulty airbag module at no cost to you. Just schedule an appointment as soon as you get the recall notice.
