Component
EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS
Manufacturer
BMW OF NORTH AMERICA, LLC
What Happened
The rear lights on your vehicle are connected to the body panel by a system of electrical contacts. Over time, these contacts can wear out and cause one or more of the rear lights to stop working, like your tail light, brake light, or turn signal.
Risk if Unfixed
If one or more of your rear lights fail to work, other drivers won't be able to see your intentions, which could lead to a crash without warning.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will repair the electrical contacts to ensure your rear lights keep working properly – at no cost to you. You should schedule this repair as soon as possible when you receive the recall notice.
