Component
EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS
Manufacturer
BMW OF NORTH AMERICA, LLC
What Happened
The tail lights and brake lights on your vehicle have electrical contacts that can wear out over time, causing some lights to stop working. This includes the turn signal lights, which are inside the rear body panel.
Risk if Unfixed
If your tail lights or brake lights are not working, you won't be able to signal to other drivers what you're doing, which could lead to a crash without warning.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty electrical contacts in your rear lights, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
