What Happened
BMW is recalling your vehicle because a part called the high-pressure fuel rail might crack and leak fuel into the engine compartment.

If this happens, there's a risk of a fire, especially if there's an ignition source nearby.
Free Fix
Don't worry, BMW will replace the fuel rail for free at your local dealership, and you've already been notified with a letter dated September 19, 2022.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2022 X1 xDrive 28i, X3 xDrive30i, and 228i Gran Coupe vehicles. The high-pressure fuel rail may crack and result in a fuel leak within the engine compartment.

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace the high-pressure fuel rail, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 19, 2022. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
