ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:PUMP

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The water pump in your car is the part that helps keep your engine cool. In certain 2012-2018 BMW models, the electrical connector on the water pump might not be sealed properly, which means it could get water inside and fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the electrical connector fails, it could cause an electrical short circuit. This increases the risk of a fire, which is a serious safety issue.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect the water pump and replace it if needed, and install a protective shield to prevent future issues. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:HEAD

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The head air bag in your vehicle is designed to protect you in the event of a side collision. However, in certain 2014-2015 BMW models, this air bag's inflator could fail at the weld joint.
Risk if Unfixed
If the inflator ruptures, sharp metal fragments could enter or exit your vehicle, risking serious injury. Alternatively, if the inflator leaks gas, it might not fully inflate in a crash, increasing the risk of injury or death.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the head air bag with a safer, redesigned one – at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.
