STRUCTURE Safety Recalls

Under Review #20V397000 Plain English
Component

STRUCTURE:BODY:HOOD

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The engine compartment seal in your Audi is a protective barrier that keeps heat from escaping from the engine area. In some 2013-2018 S8 and A8 models, this seal can come loose and potentially touch hot engine parts.
Risk if Unfixed
If the seal contacts hot engine components, there's a higher risk of a fire breaking out under the hood. This could happen while you're driving, which is a serious safety concern.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will install a special retaining plate to keep the engine compartment seal in place, preventing it from coming loose. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
