AIR BAGS:FRONTAL

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The front-passenger air bag in your S8 or A8 is a safety feature that deploys in a crash to cushion a passenger's body. But in some cases, it wasn't folded correctly during assembly, which could affect its deployment.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're a child or small person riding in the front passenger seat without a seatbelt and you're close to the dashboard, an incorrectly deployed air bag could hit you with too much force, causing injury.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the faulty air bag module with a new one, free of charge. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get your recall notice.

Manufacturer

What Happened
The rearview camera system in your vehicle uses a camera to give you a view behind your car. In certain models, the camera's software may not work as intended, so you might not see what's behind you.
Risk if Unfixed
If the camera image doesn't display, you'll have a reduced view of what's behind your vehicle, increasing the risk of a collision when reversing.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will update the camera system's software to ensure the rearview image displays correctly – at no cost to you. You should schedule the software update as soon as you get the recall notice.
