ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Safety Recalls

Critical #22V178000 Plain English
Component

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The turbocharger in your vehicle is like a powerful fan that uses oil to keep its moving parts running smoothly. In some 2013-2017 Audi models, the oil supply to this fan can become clogged, causing damage to the bearings.
Risk if Unfixed
If the bearings wear out, the turbocharger's moving parts can hit the housing or break, causing the engine to stall. This could lead to a loss of power and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized Audi dealer will replace the oil strainer and change the oil in your vehicle's engine, all at no cost to you. This repair should be done as soon as possible, and you'll receive a notification letter with more information.
